The 4th of July is officially over and, for me, that always signals the halfway point of summer...but that doesn't mean we have to panic yet. There's still plenty of sunshine-y, popsicle and watermelon-filled days ahead! So I thought it would be the perfect time to share a few of my favorite items for bringing a pop of summer to your kitchen. These items capture the bright, fresh and colorful aspects of the season. And the best part? They're beautiful and functional!
Thymes Mandarin Coriander Collection
If you've followed along with me for a while now, you already know that I'm a huge fan of Thymes. Their home fragrance products are second to none and come in the most delicious scents...there's something for everyone! One of my new favorites is their Mandarin Coriander collection. It's bursting with fresh citrus notes, warm coriander and woodsy notes of cedarwood, green ivy and rosemary. It is literally sunshine in a bottle! It comes in a variety of products, including hand soap, lotion, candles and more. The dishwashing liquid and all-purpose cleaner will make your kitchen come to life with summery sweetness!
Williams-Sonoma Ardsley Champagne Bucket
WS partnered with Aerin Lauder on this floral-patterned, porcelain champagne bucket and it's been on my wish list for months! Blue, lime green and white create such a crisp color palette and the pattern is elegant and playful. The woven rattan handle reminds me of an old-school picnic basket and is such a great accent. I would totally break this out for all of my summer parties because it's cute and because champagne. But I have to admit--if I wasn't using it to ice down beverages, I'd leave it out on my countertop all summer long. It's beautiful and would be great on its own as decor or even as a planter!
Festive Plates -- For Serving and Displaying
I'm a huge fan of decorating with plates -- either on a wall or propped up on a countertop or shelf. It can be a lovely and affordable way to inject a little creativity into a space. There are so many summer-inspired plates out there, so you don't have to look too hard to find some that are perfect for the kitchen and for your next gathering! I love the Zinnia Blooms Flowered Plates and Alfresco Botanical Flower Plates from Crate and Barrel. Bonus: most summer plates are on sale right now, so it's the perfect time to stock up! Double bonus: a lot of summer plates are melamine, making them lighter and less breakable if you want to hang them.
Monograms Are Perfect for Summer
Who am I kidding? Monograms are perfect year-round! But especially in summer, I love to sport monograms on everything from totes and towels to home decor! If you're looking for high-quality, fun and gorgeous personalized items, Mark and Graham is a great resource. I've ordered several items from them -- both for myself and to give as gifts -- and I've never been disappointed! These fringed coasters are an easy and colorful way to add some fun to happy hour. And with the wide variety of monogram type styles available, you can really make them your own!
Tropical-Inspired Kitchen Linens
This table runner from Kirkland's gives me all the summer feels! The palm print in cool summer blues, greens and tans will send your table on an instant tropical vacation. It's bright and cheery and would look amazing paired with rattan place mats and crisp white plates. Easy, breezy and festive!
